Vertical roller mill working principle

1. The motor dives the grinding table to turn around through the decelerator. At the same time, hot air flows into the roller mill from the air inlet. The materials fall down on the centre of grinding table from the feeder.
2. Because of the centrifugal force, the materials will move to the edge of grinding plate from the centre. The materials are crushed by the grinding roller when they passes the groove on the grinding table. The crushed materials continue to move to the edge of the grinding table until they are taken away by the airstream. Then the bigger materials fall down the grinding table and the process of crushing continues.
3. When the materials in the airstream pass the separator on the top of the mill, the materials fall down the grinding table from the taper filler under the force of guide leaf blade. The fine powder comes out with the airstream, and is gathered by the dust catcher of the system. The powder gathered is the final product of roller mill.
4. In the process of the contact of airstream, the materials are dried to meet the clients' need at the proper moisture. Through the adjustment of the angle between the separator and the leaf of wind’s direction (not suitable to the small type of vertical mill), and also the speed of the separator rotor, it can reach the proper fineness of the materials.

Vertical roller mill used in cement, coal, limestone industry

Vertical roller mill for cement process: Vertical mill is the main milling machine used in cement grinding plant, with large capacity, energy consumption and it's fineness is upto 0.0445mm. In the complete cement production line, vertical roller mill is used in three grinding processes.

The first process is making cement raw meal. When the limestone particles are mixed with additive materials according to the certain percentage, the cement raw meal will enter into the vertical cement mill for grinding powder, then collect the cement raw meal powder using dust collection.

The secondary process is making coal powder. Coal is the important raw material for cement production line, it can change the clotting time of cement. So we need add coal powder into the cement. We usually use vertical coal mill as cement mill in coal grinding process.

The third process is grinding gypsum and cement clinker into cement powder. Of course gypsum is firstly crushed into particles by crusher. Then gypsum and cement clinker enter into vertical cement mill, the machine grind cement clinker and gypsum into powder to make cement.

Of course, not only vertical mill is used in the cement production line, ball mill is also used in those three process. Super ultrafine grinding mill is used in the cement plant if the requirement about finess is strict and high.
Cement crusher is general used before the cement mill, and it is used crushing limestone, gypsum and coal for cement.
